Anxiety Sleep Disorder Symptoms and Causes

To determine if you have a sleep disorder, or an anxiety sleep disorder your doctor will perform certain tests. Sleep apnea is a physical symptom and is where you stop breathing periodically during the night, and wake briefly to start breathing again. When this happens regularly, you are not able to fall into the deep sleep which is needed for the body to repair itself and get ready for the next day.

There are also some anxiety related sleep disorders which occur when the person is under a lot of stress in their lives. These anxiety sleep disorders have different ways that the person can learn to decompress and fall asleep at night, some of which require medication while others require relaxation techniques.

Anxiety Sleep Disorder Symptoms and Causes

Some of the symptoms that people might have when experiencing anxiety sleep disorders are varied. The most common is that the person has trouble falling asleep each night and lying in bed unable to stop the mind. When this is the case, the person needs to learn to relax his body through different relaxation exercises. He might also need to take some sleeping medication or anti anxiety medication as the doctor prescribes to help him get past a bad time in his life and get back on track again. The danger of using these medications is that some of them can become habit forming, whereupon you rely on the medication.

Another symptom is that the person might wake up in the night and have trouble falling back to sleep again. They also might wake up too early in the morning and not be able to fall asleep again. People with anxiety sleep disorders will feel tired every morning, not being able to get out of bed very easily, and they will usually feel sleepy throughout the day. They might also become irritable and have difficulty concentrating on the tasks that they need to do. They may also have trouble remembering things.

Anxiety sleep disorders are caused by stress, which can be a chronic condition or can be caused by a certain event that has occurred, such as death, divorce or changing jobs. It can also be caused by someone traveling a lot, since there is jet lag to deal with in those cases which can interfere with normal sleeping patterns.
