Hi Julianna,

You are taking control of the situation and that is important. Help from your health care professional and your own research will certainly give you the answers you need!

I wish you success in finding the causes and treatment for your symptoms.

My name is Julianna and I have insomnia. I don't know what kind I have, so i started to search all over the web to find out. I've narrowed down the search to idiopathic insomnia, psychophysiological insomnia, and chronical insomnia. I believe I have idiopathic insomnia because the other two sound like they're for older people or adults, but I'm hardly a teenager and I've had insomnia since I can remember (3 or 4). I'm a lot like psychophysiological insomnia in that I recently started to think more about my insomnia. I have'nt done as much research about chronic insomnia yet, but it's still possible. Finally, idiopathic insomnia sounds the best mostly because of being able to have it since infancy. All I really knew at the start of the search was that my insomnia was a gift from my mother and I've had it since I can remember.

I had a complicated cataract surgery done last year. The doctor wanted to put me under till I told him about my sleep apnea.
You should always mention that when ever you have surgery.
good post

Hi Traci,

I am so glad your son Michael was finally found innocent. Your family do not understand because unfortunately, they are afraid of what they do not know. It is easy to point blame when there is a lack of knowledge.

Follow your urge to research and further understand the effects of sleepwalking, and feel free to submit your comments.

If you would like to write an article of your findings, I will gladly publish it on my site for you.

There are other articles here you can read also:

I am thinking I would like to do more research on sleepwalking. I want all the answers I can get. My son Michael, got into alot of trouble from sleepwalking. He was 16 at the time, he is now 18. He was asked by my sister to spend the night and watch his cousin (age 12 at the time) for an early morning shift; my sister had to work. All I know is that next morning I received a phonecall from my sister telling me that her daughter woke up in the night and complained that my son Michael had picked her up and moved her to the other bed in the same bedroom. While doing so, he opened the back of her pants and rubbed her on the back and kissed her on the cheek. For about two weeks prior to the babysitting episode; my youngest son Ryan, would fall asleep on my older son Michael's chest every night for two weeks in a row, while my older son MIchael, would play on his laptop. My husband and I would make it a point to tell Michael that when he puts Ryan into his own bed, that he had better not have a poop. And that he (MIchael) had better check. Well, having told you the story, the outcome just isn't good either. My son Michael was devistated! When I told him about what he was accused of doing. He got arrested within the first year of this episode. No one bothered to explain to my neice that my son Michael was probably sleepwalking! So, even now to this day, I don't speak to my sister, her husband, or my neice. And my mother sides with my sister and thinks my kid is a pedophile! It almost ruined his life! I can't tell you the countless court dates, him being arrested, the state appointed psycho-sexual counseling, the cops telling me,"I know your son did this"(from my own home town). The cops driving down my street and peering into my yard! It really got overwhelming. My son Michael was a senior in highschool. He failed that year and didn't get to graduate with his life long friends. Instead, I had to pull him from my home to live with his Dad, where he could start over fresh! He was seen by a state appointed psycho-sexual counselor. Whom as a child she slept walked. Thank God! Someone finally listened! He was found innocent. But, I would just like to add: There just isn't enough information out there about sleep walking. No one in my family still believes him or my defending words! We went through hell. But, for the most part, my neice thinks she was sexually assaulted, because my sister and mother overreacted! Which is very sad. So, I guess I am looking to vent a little and talk with someone whom is more experienced on the subject.

Thank you,

Comment on Is There A Sleep Apnea Natural Cure? by Charles

Banyon, you are right. Sleep apnea is a deadly disease. But there are people who do not consult with 'sleep doctors' they prefer to use holistic treatments. 'Sleep apnea patients want a natural cure for their sleep apnea.'

Another point is: 'The traditional treatment for sleep apnea is a CPAP machine, which the patient wears all night to control their breathing. However, some patients have found relief with natural cures.'

There are people who have had great success with alternative methods. There are also many people who have had great success with treatments from their doctor.

Everyone has the right to make their own choice. My goal is to provide people with some of the answers to the questions I am asked.

It is very irresponsible to claim these are natural cures for sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a deadly condition and anyone who suspects there have sleep apnea should get a consultation with a sleep doctor without delay.
