Do Not Take Any Sleep Problem Lightly
There Are Many Sleep Disorders and Problems To Be Aware Of
Recent studies indicate that a person will die much faster due to lack of sleep, rather that any other deprivation, such as food, water, or basic sanitation. Therefore it is very important that you do not take any sleep problem lightly.
Sleep Apnea Disorder
Sleep apnea is a very serious disease; one that is responsible for millions of deaths globally. Though this affliction has a prescribed treatment and medication, a natural cure would always be better and easier to adopt. It is not the case that whenever there is a sleep problem there is sleep apnea.
There are many traditional ways to use to induce sleep. Try them all and see whether it helps your sleep problem. If it does not, then consider checking with your doctor for a professional diagnosis.
First of all you need to learn to relax your mind before retiring to bed. Whatever happened during the day has happened; what will happen tomorrow is yet to come. Hence, you need to clear everything from your mind while sleeping. The best would be to learn a few meditation techniques and practice these before sleep so you can relax.
Secondly, if you ever find that you are unable to fall asleep, stop trying to push yourself to sleep. Get up from the bed, make yourself a cup of herbal tea, milk or hot chocolate, not coffee, and do something relaxing. Watching action packed movies or reading thought provoking material, is not going to relax you. These things excite the mind and hence would be counterproductive for you.
When Do You Feel Tired?
Another way is to check your biological clock. What time do you feel naturally sleepy? For example, 10.30 pm. Now, what is the time you wake up normally? Let us say it is 6.30 am. This means that your body needs eight hours of sleep.
Now check out how many hours per day you actually give yourself. Anything less would definitely give you a sleep problem, as would too much sleep. Once you have established your sleep pattern conducive to your own needs, try it consistently for a few weeks. If you still have a sleep problem then go to a professional for an evaluation.
